House flies can become a serious nuisance, especially when they start swarming in large numbers around your premises. Apart from being annoying, they are also known carriers of harmful diseases like cholera, tuberculosis, and parasitic worms. At night, they prefer locations close to food sources and often rest at a height of 5 to 15 feet.

When they land on uncovered food or kitchen surfaces, these contaminants are transferred instantly. Flies also release digestive fluids on solid foods to soften them before feeding. Simple movements—like cleaning themselves or moving across food preparation areas—can spread disease-causing bacteria and viruses. Depending on the species and environment, the lifespan of a fly can range from just over a week to as long as a year.
